40 physicians, 11 nurses, 8 psychologists and 4 social workers (63 participants) from Albania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Iceland, Moldavia, Romania an Slovenia enrolled the masterclass.
Pediatric Palliative Care Masterclass (12 hours)
May 6 – 8, 2021, 15:00- 19:00 (Romanian time GMT+2)
This educational event aims to enhance palliative care competencies for pediatric professionals who care for children with life limiting illnesses and to create a community of professionals engaged in development of pediatric palliative care in Europe.
The Pediatric Palliative Care Masterclass is a three-day educational event, organized on zoom platform, with an intense and interactive program (4 hours per day with 10 minutes breaks between sessions) focusing on communication, symptom management, grief and bereavement and team development. Participants will be expected to submit a challenging case from their own practice prior to the masterclass, for discussion, to actively participate throughout the masterclass.
The Pediatric Palliative Care Masterclass is Romanian- American initiative of Transilvania University from Brasov in collaboration with HOSPICE Casa Sperantei with the scientific contribution of high profile professionals from US Ohio Health; Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus, Ohio; Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania:
